July 27, 2006.05:50 Odds and ends, but mostly (odd) ends
Been awhile since I posted here. So, what's going on?
I'm quitting CG for at least a year and moving to Japan to teach English, in a small town an hour northeast of Tokyo, named Ryugasaki. I'm going to be keeping a blog of my travels at http://blog.complexdream.com/
I'll probably continue to haunt CGtalk a bit. I fly back to Kentucky to say goodbye to friends and family on August 7th, then fly out to Japan on August 22nd.

Work has been kicking my arse lately. It started off pretty innocently... learn some cloth, learn some fur... and rapidly escalated into, know Maya Fur, Cloth, Fluids, Mental Ray shading, and Realflow at an expert level as quickly as possible! Aiiieeee!
I finally managed to get out another page of Break, although I'm not super pleased with it. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to work on it, but then again, I have a website to build for my friend, and a housewarming party to go to for my co-worker. Guh.
In other news, the JET program decided to dick me around for another 6 months, so I am applying to NOVA and Geos and Aeon, because their turnaround? Much, much quicker. In fact, I already have an interview with NOVA. So, here's hoping! Next year in Jerusale-er, Japan!
March 21, 2006.06:59 Little update
So they opened the floodgates and let the common rabble in! I see! Well, I should make the place a bit more presentable, then.
Been a bit busy with work. I got a quick gig at yu+co helping them do some pitch stuff for two days last week, and start a lengthier stay at Ring of Fire tomorrow. I'll be working on some commercial effects for a couple months. Plus, I had to drive a friend up to San Jose yesterday for the GDC, and drove back today. On top of all that, I have had food poisoning, or been sick, or SOMETHING, throughout all this, actually cutting my stay at yu+co a little short, so I'm kind of beat. Man.
The interminable drive did let me think through a lot of stuff for Break, though. Hopefully I can get back on that this week. Lordy but life has been busy lately.
Also, I think I find out about if I get into the JET Program this week! Wooo~!
